What we do

Types of Road and Driveway Work We Get Called For

A road is a road until you look at what it has to do. These are the jobs we build most.

New Gravel Driveways

  • Driveways for new homes and existing properties
  • Proper base under the gravel, not gravel on dirt
  • Crowned or graded to shed water according to the site

Access Roads for Raw Land

  • A way in for property that has never had one
  • Routes planned around slope, trees, and wet ground
  • Built to carry the construction traffic coming next

Private Roads and Long Drives

  • Rural drives that run hundreds of feet, not dozens
  • Culverts set wherever water crosses the route
  • Grades managed so the climb stays drivable in rain

Driveway Rebuilds

  • Drives that rut, pothole, and wash out brought back right
  • The failure fixed first, then the surface, in that order
  • Base and drainage corrected so the problem stays gone

One Contract From Raw Land to Build-Ready

Every concrete truck and lumber delivery rides in on the road before you ever park a car there. Cleburne County approves the culvert at the entrance, and that approval sets the route. We build the road with the clearing, pad, and drainage on one estimate.

  • The base goes in early and the finish goes on late. Heavy construction traffic runs on the road base, and the final gravel gets laid after the trucks are done tearing at it.

  • The route gets picked with the whole site in mind. Where the pad sits, where water moves, and how steep the climb is all get decided together.

  • Water crossings get sized once, correctly. Culverts go in as part of the drainage plan, not as an afterthought when the first washout appears.

How We Work a Site

  1. 1

    Base Carries the Road

Gravel is just the surface. The layers underneath do the work, so we build the base for the loads the road will actually see.

  2. 2

    Graded to Shed Water

Every drive is crowned or graded to shed water according to the site, so runoff leaves the road instead of settling into the surface.

  3. 3

    Water Crosses Underneath

Where runoff meets the route, a culvert takes it under the road instead of letting it eat across the top.

  4. 4

    Built for the Heaviest Day

A driveway that only handles your truck fails the day the concrete truck, the propane truck, or the ambulance needs to use it.

A Badly Done Road Will Cost You Later

A cheap drive looks fine the week it is finished. The next twelve months tell the truth.

Gravel spread on bare dirt sinks into it.

One wet season and you are buying the same rock again, then again, grading mud in between.

A missing or undersized culvert sabotages quietly.

Every rain carries off a little more of the crossing until one storm takes the whole thing at once.

A steep drive without shaped drainage becomes a creek in hard rain.

The water mines channels down the middle, and every trip up gets rougher until the grader comes back.

FAQ

Common Questions We Get About Roads and Driveways

What landowners ask before the route gets cut.

How much does a gravel driveway cost in Arkansas?

Length is only the starting point. The price follows how much base the ground needs, how many water crossings the route has, how steep the climb runs, and how far material has to travel to reach you. A short, flat drive on firm ground and a quarter-mile route up a wooded slope are entirely different jobs. We walk the route, count the real conditions, and put the number in a written, itemized estimate.

Do I need a culvert for my driveway?

If water crosses your route at any point, yes, and if your drive connects to a county road, the county usually has a say in the culvert where the two meet. Sizing matters more than people expect, because a pipe that handles a normal rain and fails in a heavy one is a washout on a delay. We size crossings for the water the land actually collects and handle the drive-to-road connection so it goes in right the first time.

How long does a gravel driveway last?

Built properly, decades, with light maintenance grading along the way. What shortens the life is usually the same list: no real base under the gravel, grading that does not shed water, and no culverts where water crosses. A drive missing those basics is on a one-to-two-year replacement cycle no matter how nice the rock on top looks. Build the boring parts right and the gravel stays where you paid for it to be.

Can you build an access road to raw land?

Yes, that is a job we know well. Plenty of land around Greers Ferry Lake and across Cleburne County gets bought with no way in at all, and the road is the first thing that makes the property real. We pick the route around the slope and the trees worth keeping, put the crossings where the water wants to go, and build an entrance that construction traffic can use the day it is finished.

What areas do you serve for driveways and access roads?

Home base is Heber Springs, and the working range covers Cleburne, Van Buren, White, and Faulkner County: Greers Ferry, Fairfield Bay, Clinton, Quitman, Searcy, Conway, and the rural land between them. Bentonville and Mountain Home property owners with land in our area, we take those calls too. Not sure if you are in range? Ask, and you will know in one phone call.
