Clearing is the first decision you make on a piece of land, and it is the one you live with longest. What comes down, what stays, and what happens to the ground underneath sets up everything you build after. Dirt Work Innovations clears home sites, farms, and lake lots out of Heber Springs, across Cleburne, Van Buren, White, and Faulkner County.

Types of Land Clearing Work We Get Called For
Different properties grow different problems. These are the most common.
Lot Clearing for New Home Sites
- Build sites opened up from wooded or overgrown ground
- Stumps and root balls out where the structure will sit
- Cleared to the footprint the build actually needs
Greers Ferry Lake Lot Clearing
- Raw lake lots cleared for cabins and second homes
- Selective clearing that keeps the trees worth keeping
- Sloped lots worked without sending the hillside downhill
Brush and Overgrowth Clearing
- Regrowth, cedar, and thicket taken back to usable ground
- Land that sat neglected for years brought back into shape
- Fence lines, field edges, and property lines opened up
Acreage and Farm Clearing
- Timber and brush removal across larger tracts
- Pasture expanded and farm ground reclaimed
- Cleared in phases when the budget calls for it

One Contract From Raw Land to Build-Ready
Clearing is phase one of most builds, and how it is done decides how the rest goes. We handle the pad, the driveway, and the drainage that follow, all on one estimate, so the clearing gets done with the whole plan in mind.
What stays and goes gets decided around the build. Pad, drive, and drainage are marked before the first tree comes down.
Stumps come out everywhere weight will sit. Nothing organic stays buried under a slab, a drive, or a wall.
The site hands off clean. No second company, no re-clearing, no gap before the dirt work starts.
How We Work a Site
- 1
Walked Before Anything Is Cut
The property gets walked and the plan gets set on the ground, so what stays and what goes is decided before a machine starts.
- 2
Cleared to the Plan
The machine takes what the plan calls for. Trees giving the property its shade, its screen, and its value stay where they are.
- 3
No Piles Left Behind
Where the cleared material ends up gets settled before the work starts. Keep the usable timber or have all of it gone, either way the site ends up clean.
- 4
Scoped Before We Start
The full scope goes on paper in an itemized estimate, so you know what is coming down and what it costs before anyone shows up.

What Bad Clearing Costs Later
A cleared lot looks like progress no matter how it was done. The difference shows up later.
Buried stumps rot.
The ground above them sinks, and if that ground is under your slab or your driveway, they sink right along with it.
Bare slopes shed water fast.
Ground stripped clean on a grade washes out in the first hard rain, and around Greers Ferry Lake that means your topsoil heads for the water.
Cleared too far costs twice.
On a lake lot the trees are half the value, and once a crew flattens everything, no amount of money buys the shade back.

Common Questions We Get About Clearing Land
What landowners ask before the first tree comes down.
How much does land clearing cost per acre in Arkansas?
Per-acre pricing only works if every acre is the same, and they never are. The price follows what is growing on the ground, how thick it stands, what the terrain does, and what happens to the material once it is down. An acre of light brush on flat ground and an acre of mature timber on a slope are different jobs wearing the same measurement. We walk the property first and quote the actual land, in writing, itemized, anywhere in Cleburne County and the counties around it.
Do you offer forestry mulching?
No. We clear with an excavator, which means stumps and root balls come out of the ground instead of being ground off at the surface. Mulching leaves the roots in place, and for pasture or trails that can be fine, but under a building pad or a driveway, buried roots rot and the ground settles. If you are clearing to build, roots out is the version that holds up, and that is the version we do.
Do you clear lots on Greers Ferry Lake?
Yes. Lake lot clearing is its own kind of job: the lots run steep, the trees carry real value, and a lot of owners are planning a build from Memphis, Dallas, or somewhere else hours away. We clear to the build plan, keep what makes the lot worth what you paid, and document the work with drone photos so you can see the property without driving to it.
What happens to the trees and brush?
That gets decided when we quote the job, because the right answer depends on the property and on you. Some owners want usable timber kept and stacked, some want every stick gone, and the terrain has a vote in what is practical. The estimate spells out where the material ends up, so there is no pile of surprises sitting on your land when the machine leaves.
What areas do you serve for land clearing?
Home base is Heber Springs, and the working range covers Cleburne, Van Buren, White, and Faulkner County: Greers Ferry, Fairfield Bay, Clinton, Quitman, Searcy, Conway, and the rural land between them. Bentonville and Mountain Home property owners with land in our area, we take those calls too. Not sure if you are in range? Ask, and you will know in one phone call.
